Beef & Beans Hotpot

  • tick500g organic beef mince
  • tick250g bacon, fried and chopped finely (optional)
  • tick1 large onion, diced
  • tick¼ cup golden sugar
  • tick½ cup Chantal Organics Tomato Ketchup
  • tick½ cup Chantal Organics Tomato Passata
  • tick1 tsp Chantal Organics Apple Cider Vinegar
  • tick1 tsp mustard powder
  • tick2 cans Chantal Organics Baked Beans
  • tick1 can Chantal Organics Red Kidney Beans
  • tick1 can Chantal Organics Black Beans
  • tick1 can Chantal Organics Cannellini Beans
  • tick1 tsp sea salt
  • tickPepper to taste


  • Step 1.

    Preheat oven to 180 C.

  • Step 2.

    Fry the bacon until crisp (if using). Remove from the pan and let cool. Chop finely.

  • Step 3.

    In the same pan, sauté the beef mince and diced onion.

  • Step 3.

    Meanwhile, drain and rinse the canned beans, (do not drain baked beans), and place in a large casserole dish. Add the remaining seasonings and ingredients to the dish, followed by the mince and bacon. Stir well.

  • Step 4.

    Cover and bake for 50-60 minutes.

  • Step 5.

    Serve hot, with a side salad or other sautéed greens.
