Adzuki Beans

These small beans are native to east Asia and have a slightly sweet and nutty flavour. Popularly used in Japanese cuisine, they give a fudge like consistency to healthy sweets such as brownies, and they make a tasty addition to savoury soups and salads. Generally, dried beans are slightly more cost effective than the canned variety, but they don’t come ready to eat. It’s really up to personal preference when it comes to choosing between the two.
