Cooking healthy family-friendly meals, that the kids will enjoy, can be daunting at the best of times. We’ve done the work for you with this 7-day healthy whole food meal plan, including ideas for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. You’ll also find a selection of healthy budget friendly dinner recipes, with many incorporating our staple and favourite products. Meals are whole food based, meaning they contain ingredients that aren’t processed, or have been as minimally processed as possible.
A great way to keep costs down is to cook larger servings at dinner time, saving leftovers for lunch the following day. This meal plan puts this into practice, with a number of recipes producing 6-8 portions, allowing for a full set of leftovers to be enjoyed the next day.
Who would suit this meal plan?
- The plan is based around a family of four (two adults and two children), but quantities can be halved for a two, and halved again for one.
- Those without specific dietary requirement – as this meal plan incorporates a wide range of foods, feel free to remove or substitute any meals that wouldn’t be suitable for you or your family.
